We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to oversee all shop and field operations based out of our Hythe location.
The successful candidate will be in charge of ensuring the delivery the Northwest Industrial promise of safety, quality and exceptional service across our fabrication, turnaround, maintenance and environmental logistics services.
The ability to effectively lead, schedule, plan, communicate and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment is essential. Previous management experience in industrial fabrication, mechanical and general contracting to be considered an asset.
Job Description
- Oversee all operations at the Hythe facility, including fabrication, field services, and environmental logistics.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across safety, quality control, HR, administration, and field operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to company safety protocols and quality assurance standards in all service areas.
- Act as the primary liaison between Hythe operations and Calgary head office; deliver regular reporting and operational updates.
- Execute strategic initiatives developed by the executive team at the site level, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Monitor project execution, resource allocation, and performance across all service lines.
- Support business development efforts by ensuring operational readiness and client satisfaction.
- Foster a positive, productive workplace culture with a focus on accountability, teamwork, and safety.
- Collaborate with industry clients from oil & gas, mining, renewables, agriculture, and pulp & paper sectors to ensure service expectations are met.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to supervisors, foremen, and field leaders.
- Manage operational budgets, schedules, and priorities in alignment with company standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in industrial operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong background in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across fabrication, field services, and logistics.
- Proven track record of leadership in industrial settings, particularly within sectors such as oil & gas, mining, agriculture, or related industries.
- Solid understanding of safety programs, quality control systems, and operational compliance in industrial environments.
- Experience working in or managing trades-based teams (e.g., welders, pipefitters, millwrights) is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and operational targets under dynamic conditions.
- Competency in basic office and reporting software (e.g., MS Office, project tracking tools).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between worksites as needed.
